There are 313 Khalilabad assembly constituencies in Sant Kabir Nagar district. The world famous Maghar also falls in Khalilabad assembly constituency. Magahar itself is the Nirvana Sthal of Saint Kabir. Magahar cotton mill has been closed for a long time. Every time the issue of the mill closed in the election arises in every assembly election. Leaders also make promises to start the mill in every election, but the promise remains only a promise.

Khalilabad Vidhan Sabha is situated within a radius of 25 km. 20 percent of the area is inhabited while 80 percent of the area is covered by agriculture and other industries. Banana and vegetable are mainly cultivated. Every year the floods of the Ami river during the rainy season damage the crops. Samay Mata Mandir, Kabir Nirvana Sthali, Tameshwar Nath Dham are also in this assembly constituency in Khalilabad assembly constituency. Near Khalilabad city is the famous Bardahiya market for clothes.

In the 2017 election from Khalilabad assembly seat, 23 candidates were in the fray. Digvijay Narayan alias Jai Choubey of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won by securing 72061 votes, while MA Choudhary of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) came second with 56024 votes. Peace Party President Dr. Mohammad Ayub got 42041 votes and came third. Javed Ahmed of Samajwadi Party (SP) came fourth with 28274 votes.

Number Khalilabad assembly constituency has a majority of Muslim voters. There are about 450416 voters in Khalilabad assembly constituency, in which the number of male voters is close to 2 lakh 42 thousand, while the number of female voters is close to two lakh 84 thousand. People of all castes reside in this assembly constituency. This seat is not continuously occupied by any one party. Digvijay Narayan Jai Choubey started his political journey by contesting the election of block chief from BSP. Digvijay Narayan alias Jai Choubey is the manager of many inter and degree colleges in Sant Kabir Nagar district as well as in Basti district. 

During the Corona period, Jai Choubey was seen very active and had brought ration as well as other essential things to the people. About half a dozen cases of minor disputes are also registered against Jai Choubey.

Streets flooded, massive traffic jams as Delhi receives highest rain in September in 19 years

The nationwide capital woke up to heavy showers on Thursday, a day after the Capital obtained the highest September rainfall in 19 years.
